A brand-new entertaining and informative comedy from the makers of 'Three Men in a Boat' and 'Old Herbaceous'. Delve deep into the life of English comedian, actor, singer, and writer Benny Hill from the height of his career until his death in 1992. In his latest play, Mark Carey sets out to address the question 'Whatā€™s Wrong with Benny Hill?' and to show how funny this unique and deeply private man was.

Considered amongst his peers as the best, an 'imperial clown', Benny Hill is widely recognized for the TV show 'The Benny Hill Show' full of slapstick humour, burlesque, and double entendre which ran successfully for 20 years before it was cancelled in 1989. Today the show is broadcast regularly in over one-hundred countries around the world but still, in Britain, Benny Hill has effectively been 'cancelled'.

Expect laugh-out-loud comedy combined with thought-provoking theatre that tackles current issues and addresses the ā€˜cancel cultureā€™ attitudes of the modern world. A wonderfully fun, inspiring, and informative occasion to reminisce on a comedy legend that many of us will remember fondly as an entertaining and witty performer.

'A new and interesting show that delves into the life of one of our most divisive comedians. Loved across the world but pillored here. Now you can decide.' Live & Local
